WE’VE BEEN TAKING YOUNG PEOPLE ON HOLIDAYS FOR TWO DECADES, AND THE WHOLE TIME MAKING SURE THAT WE DON’T TAKE OUR FINGER OFF THE PULSE.
The Stoke App is our latest reinvention, and is in response to what we know youth travel needs.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUTH TRAVEL
NOTHING, THE KIDS ARE OK
There's no problem with youth travel – outside of COVID restrictions the sector will be as vibrant as ever – the problem is with how a stale and entitled industry hasn't evolved in step with young travellers' needs, and as such hasn't been exciting for a while now. For all 2020's ills, it gave us a chance to reset, recalibrate and return with something to offer this eminently exciting audience.
The disease caused by the SARS CoV2 novel coronavirus has obviously had a massive impact on global travel, with young travellers in particular feeling like they've missed out on some of life's rights of passage. So when travel returns do you think they'll resign to having missed their opportunity, or will massively make up for lost time? Yep, we're banking on that too. Couple this with an aversion towards hop-on-hop-off group tourism, and a reduction in in-person check-ins, and we're with an unwanted, but accepted opportunity to offer young travellers something different.
BRICKS AND BORE-TAR
COVID hastened the inevitable and brought about the decline and potentially demise of high-street travel brands and the tour companies that they support. We live in a technological age, and not many historical travel outfits offer young travellers experiences that they can't replicate, or improve upon, themselves with the help of apps, the sharing economy and aggregating websites. But what hasn't rushed in to fill the void is a tech play that deftly combines ease of booking with a level of curation and intrepidness that young travellers might not possess at this stage of their travelling lives.
OUT OF GREAT ADVERSITY
Comes opportunity. Or soul crushing defeat. Fortunately for young travellers we've decided on the former, and have set our combined experience, expertise and intelligence towards coming up with the tech solution that 18-30 year old travellers have been craving. The Stoke App will form an indelible part of young travellers' experience, acting as a travel buddy, source of inspiration, as well as an easy way to book, be rewarded for experiencing more, and somewhere to find real-world and useful hints and tips from their community of current and former travellers.
